More practice with layering elements. This one may have turned too busy. It’s all about balance, right? We are having another cloudy day here, plus it’s Monday… Sigh…

Another pattern with pale repeat in the background. I like how it adds interest and complexity. I need to practice making more complex patterns. Part of learning 🙂
Weather got worse it rained in the morning and now there is very strong wind. It will most probably spoil our walk… but there is still hope 🙂 And anyway I need to clean house, so no time will get wasted…

I made this one today from a detail of one of my art journal pages. I really like how subtle it is. It would work great on a wallpaper or summer skirt…
It’s Saturday and after the usual visit to the market, we had a walk which was partly in the light rain and partly in boiling humidity after the rain. But we did it anyway. I am arranging meetings with my new group of ladies from Flourish membership. Looking forward to meeting new people…

Today, there are Frenchies in Green Leaves and Pink Flowers 🙂
I worked for hours on this one. It was hard to arrange the elements and I am still not perfectly happy. But hey, I have come a long way in two weeks time. The day was nice and the fact that I was on holiday made it even better.

I forgot to post yesterday, so here are two new patterns I made yesterday and today and also a banner for my Spoonflower shop. Busy day ahead, so I will leave it here. The weather suddenly improved and I dare hope for a walk around noon 🙂

So these are the two versions of the pattern I worked on yesterday and today. The basic repeat square is the photo of the print I made yesterday. My goal was to preserve the imperfection of the print and get the working repeat pattern. It took a lot of time and a lot of trial and error, but I learned stuff too, so I am happy. I love the lime green background 🙂

Two things today. One is a pattern made of simple watercolor squares I painted yesterday. Pretty easy to make, and nothing special, maybe would be nice on a tissue box 🙂
The second is a stamp I carved today. I am trying to make a repeat pattern out of it in Photoshop and it’s really difficult, but I think I am getting there. I wanted to leave the background color because I really like it, but it’s not possible because the color is not uniform due to this being a photo, so once you repeat it, individual tiles are easily visible and that’s not ok. So now I am working on removing the background and moving two to three stamped images to make the distribution more even. I hope to finish by tomorrow.

Another pattern in the same style as the one I did yesterday. This one worked better, though I am not exactly thrilled. It’s raining, so it looks like there will be much house cleaning today. I need to do some additional shopping too. So this is how much art gets done today 🙂

New Watercolor pattern. Not really very successful, but I tested some alternative way of making pattern in Photoshop and it works. I just need to work on how to balance elements better to achieve more natural look. Did not have much time either and if I want to make a pattern a day, I need to accept imperfections.
It was a busy Saturday. Went to the market to buy food and then had a short walk and after worked in the garden. The weather was finally acceptable, meaning not cold and not windy. Now, let’s cook some dinner.
