Lucy’s coloring book

Color me brightly

  • This is the one I posted two days ago. I started coloring but will not finish it soon because I travel today and won’t take it with me. There is another unfinished one waiting for me for next week though.

Last night we went out to Christmas Market in the center but that was a mistake as the streets were so crowded that we could barely walk. We did not see much and we didn’t get any food or wine because we didn’t want to cue for it. So we went back to our local market and had food and wine there. Maybe we will try again but choose a working day instead of weekend.

Today is sunny and warm. I went for a run and now I will be packing and leaving. Great day for a drive…

  • It’s time for an update on stamp carving. Here are four new stamps:

This photo is horrible but that’s the best I could do without daylight and I didn’t see any until Thursday.

This photo was taken on Thursday when I stayed home thinking that I will take Mother to doctor. I did not, but I used the daylight for good purpose.

I really like this one. I made it yesterday.

And finally this quick one, so called garbage stamp because it’s carved from a leftover piece of rubber. It’s only 1.5 cm or 3/4 inch if I am not mistaken in conversion.

That’s it. We went to the food market and the post office (happy mail sent). We had breakfast and coffee in our usual place. As it was really warm I went out for a run and now I am contempleting cooking a quick dinner and going out to the central Christmas market to have some mulled wine and admire the lights. Hope your Saturday is being good to you 😉

I drew this one on an A3 sheet of paper, so I cannot scan it, as my scanner is A4. I hope it will print well from the photo, if someone is interested to have a go. I started coloring it today. It will be a long process…

It’s Friday and all my unpleasant errands are done or cancelled and I am still alive. YAY! It was one hell of a week, but I handled it all well and I am very happy with myself. Yesterday afternoon we met a friend of mine for dinner. We went to a place called Dallas, an American-style diner with huge burgers and great steaks. I always take the same burger and it’s big and juicy and makes me incredibly satisfied (and just a bit guilty). That’s the thing with me: when I find a meal I like in a restaurant, I always eat that one. Sometimes I even decide to try something else, but when the moment comes to order, I order the same old… Afraid to get disappointed and stay hungry, I guess. LOL!

Another mandala done. Today I stayed to work from home half a day, as I planned to go to the doctor with my mother. But, the doctor got sick and cancelled, so our errand is moved two weeks from now. I would be more glad if I could have got rid of that one today, but I am not complaining. It was nice to stay home, if only for being able to take some photos of my art in daylight. Not that we got much of it today, but still there is a difference!

One day to Saturday! There is only embassy visit left for tomorrow morning. Each December my mother needs to prove to the embassy that she is still alive in order to receive her pension money for next year. It includes going there, taking deposit slip for the bank, going to the bank, paying the fee, going back to the embassy to take the proof of life document and then going to the post office to post it to the pension authorities back home. We will leave the post office for Saturday, as I also have some happy mail to send and there is a post office close to the market where we buy food on Saturdays.

It looks like I am surviving this week. And I am so glad it’s almost over!

I apologize for the quality of the photos… Since Monday I don’t see any daylight when at home, so this is the best I can do. On Monday I carved the snowflake – I wanted to practice carving circles, so I thought of a snowflake consisting of circles only. It was difficult, but it did not turn out so bad. Yesterday I had very little time, so I had to satisfy myself with a little garbage stamp, which I carved probably in less than five minutes. It still looks ok, I think.

Last night we went to a local Christmas market to admire decorations and drink some mulled wine. It was very cold, but we found a place next to a wood stove where they baked some pizza-like Hungarian specialty called kemences langos. Of course, we had a serving of that to go with our wine and enjoyed the warmth coming from the stove.

This morning I submitted my application for a new driving license, so one more worry is crossed out from my list and there are only two and a half days until Saturday. Tomorrow is a ‘mother’s doctor’ day and on Friday an ’embassy’ day. I am becoming progressively more relaxed and happy with myself as days go by. All will be good!

I am sitting at the car service, waiting for oil change. I was supposed to be here at 8.00 am, but was more than 45 minutes late, due to incredibly dense traffic. I got up at 5.20 am and got around half an hour of mandala coloring and doodling while drinking my coffee. The photo was made under the lamp, so the colors are not right at all. These days it’s impossible to make any decent photos, as I go from home before daylight and I come back at night. But at least they are authentic and you get a pretty good idea of the conditions…

So, four more days to Saturday. After I finish with the service, I am heading to work for a second day of audit. Step by slowly step I am putting the unpleasant things behind me. I can do it…

  • wp-1480837954424.jpgwp-1480846602414.jpg

These are the stamps I did for days 3 and 4 of #carveDecember. Snowflakes again – I so much enjoy carving them.

The weekend was good: I did run both days and enjoyed time out in the sun, despite the cold. Today I got my lab results and apart from the chronic neutropenia that I already know about, there was nothing else special. So, I am pretty ok. This week is going to be very busy, with lots of work and additional errands, so I am bracing myself and counting days to Saturday. There will be very little time for art in the morning and little in the evening, but I hope I will manage a quick stamp every day and maybe some additional mandala doodling. Four and a half days left to go… Breathe…

  • This is the mandala I was working on for past several days. I finished it yesterday, but could take a photo only today.

    wp-1480838178466.jpg

I am very pleased with it. It was done in my Black Book with white Posca pen, black Edding marker, Luminance6901, Sakura gel pens, and Rotring Isograph with white acrylic ink.

Otherwise, it was a very good day yesterday – I did not go to the gym, but I did something even better – I went out for a run! The weather was great, sunny and not so cold, so around noon it was perfect for going out. In the morning I went to the market to buy food and had breakfast and coffee in my favorite cafe. In the afternoon we cooked dinner and watched Netflix, what else… And I did loads of art. Beautiful day. I hope to repeat it to a great extent today…

  • Here is one more snowflake:

    wp-1480691106489.jpg

I also started another mandala yesterday and worked on it a bit today before heading out for an adventure 😉

Got up early, went to the doctor’s, they took my blood, I got my driving license certificate, so everything looks good. I am feeling exhausted though. The weather is funny, not so cold, but terribly windy. It was raining when we parked to go to the doctor’s office and even more rain when we got out. And then there was a lot of sunshine when we arrived back home. Typical.

So, no gym even today. I feel tired and with a bit of headache, like I am getting sick, so better not risk it. I am going to have a short rest before I make popcorn and install myself in front of TV to watch Netflix. Oh my… I hope I will be better tomorrow so I can go, you know where… 🙂

  • It’s December and it’s time for carving stamps for 31 days. It’s a challenge started by Julie Balzer from Balzer Designs where you carve rubber stamps during the month of December and display them using #carveDecember tag. I joined the fun last year and I was so excited about it that I invested into a new carving tool this year and was impatiently waiting to put it to daily use from today.

I’ve been obsessed with snowflakes lately, so the logical thing to do was to carve a snowflake:

There you go, the fist stamp for this December.

Otherwise, it’s been really cold last couple of days and I rarely went out. Today my gym pass starts to be valid, and I should move my butt and head for the gym, but that will not happen, as I feel tired and warm and peaceful, so no way… Tomorrow I have an appointment with a doctor for my annual blood test and driving license certificate. I have to get up early and get generally upset with driving, finding parking, meeting people, and similar nonsense (I am an introvert, remember), so I give myself leave to not move from home. Tomorrow afternoon I will go to the gym, I promise. And tonight, it’s baked pumpkin with nut butter and honey and Netflix. I do love my winter nights inside…
