Lucy’s coloring book

Color me brightly

  • Today I am sharing something rather unusual for me… I mean, no, it’s not the mess that is unusual, it’s just that I don’t share my mess all that often 🙂 Somehow today I was not in any deep thinking mood and don’t have a finished piece of work to show off, so I thought, why not share this:

So… I have many things in progress. The black page with white handwriting is part of a lesson for Life Book 2016. That one is  finished, I am just working on the second part which comes on top and it’s there in the far right upper corner. Next to it is this weeks lesson from Life Book 2016. Obviously I am a bit behind, somehow couldn’t make myself start the lesson in time last week, so I started both at the same time this week…

In the middle, there is my art journal with the current double spread ornamental doodles. I will be finishing that one tomorrow morning. Here in the lower left corner is my hand-made Food Mood and Exercise journal (I am trying to lose weight and it helps writing it all down, at least for me if I have to document it I think twice before putting it in my mouth…). Next to it on the big pile from bottom to top are: my company laptop, something on top of it, I do not know what, and on top of that my private laptop, on top of my private laptop is my little everyday planner, on top of the planner is my transparent travelling bag with art supplies, and on top of the bag is another hand-made journal where I stick some scraps I collect from mail I receive (or some papers on which I try something and then it’s too pretty to trash), and where I write my morning musings and doodle carelessly… Quite an impressive pile of stuff that is…

There you go… You got some insight into my morning routine. I clean it up every morning when I finish with my arting time, but next morning it’s again the same… It works for me…

    Have nice Tuesday you all…!

Hide me in a cradle of leaves
This life is too much to bear
I dream about a frozen sun
    And castles of ice
    And a dying dog
    And a loveless world
    I wake up in tears

Pain is deep in my bones
Ancient pain from all bones ever
I keep the truth inside my bones
    The truth is also ancient

    In the mystical night
    Sailing the sails of wisdom
Hidden in the shadow of ivy
    And scent of lily
    Towards the light of lotus

  • That’s what the oracle said this morning. My life is totally under control and I can start on a blank new page… yeah, right… Maybe it’s got something to do with the full moon last week which was supposed to bring parting with the old and starting something new. Anyway, enough of this… I finished another spread in my art journal.

And I  received a happy mail from an IG friend from the US which contained lots of sakura glaze pens. So now I am happily making my white dots! Lots of them 😄 Ha! Maybe that was the new beginning 😄

  • Another one finished. I enjoy this… It’s a beautiful sunny morning…

  • This is a new thing. I always loved ornaments of all sorts and some months ago I bought a book called The World of Ornament. For me, it’s pure magic to browse through the book. I could do it for hours. I used some ideas to do several stencils that I cut recently. If you remember, I was kind of out of inspiration lately and art making was really slow and painful. One day this week I was just doing a simple colorful background in my journal and suddenly I was struck with an idea: why not try something ornamental on top?! This is the result:

I am really happy with how it looks. I am also happy because I used my water based markers and got some beautiful bleeding when mixed with white paint. Pure bliss… This was finished yesterday and today I already started a new one 🙂 Good bye art block! I know what to do now and I am again looking forward to sitting at my painting desk in the morning.

  • I feel that my inspiration is coming back slowly…. I finished this spread in my art journal today.

I played with lots of supplies: there are gelatos, acrylics, watercolor, white and black pens, and markers which I never used but thought I’d give them a try. And I was happy to discover that they write over acrylics and also bleed when I go over them with white paint, which I really liked. I feel inspired to try more marker bleeding 🙂

  • This lesson in Life Book 2016 was all about your impact in the world and how your little actions are causing a large impact through the ripple effect. The lesson included shaving cream marbling for background which I skipped because I  have no shaving cream and no acrylic ink… and I  went to search for a photo on the internet which was better than the one provided by the teacher. And then I got carried away trying to draw it. I got so immersed that it became very realistic which was not the point of the lesson… We were supposed to write our actions on the ripples but I didn’t. I quite like it this way…
